If you aren't into cooking all that often, you won't starve in Hopkins as there are a number of good restaurants within walking distance or a short bike ride away. Everybody's favourite is of course the 'Driftwood', literally 75 feet away and serving excellent pizza, beer and many other great dishes. A 5 minute walk to the south is Marva's right on the beach and she serves excellent Belizean cuisine. 'Thongs' near the center of the village is one the best places for breakfast or lunch. If you like Indian food, 'A Taste of India' does a good job of it a little further south and there is a pretty good Chinese food at Fei Wang's. And sprinkled throughout the village are dozen more places serving a mix of local and western dishes.

All along Hopkins main road, which runs parallel to the beach are a variety of small shops selling a range of local handcrafts, textiles and wood carvings. There is even a bicycle repair shop where you can get an unexpected flat fixed. Caitlin's bakery produces tasty bread, cookies and cakes that will make your mouth water. Make sure you take the time to find her little shop back from the main road and near the school. Fresh baked bread. Mmmmmmm.

We can rent you bicycles for the duration of your stay, you can rent kayaks from the Driftwood next door and try your hand navigating the waves, down along the Sittee river you can find canoes to rent for a leisurely paddle along the river and you can even rent windsurfers and hire an instructor at Windschief in the center of the village if the wind is up and the surf's on.
